No Yoga class is complete without at least one Namaste' being uttered in reverence, with hands in prayer position, and a slight bow towards the object of our attention.
Reverential attention, or deification, creates a deep neuropsychological process within, and is the mystical seed of the conscious Being that seeks to coevolve in wholeness.
So be careful what you worship.
In Sanskrit :
Nāma (naama) literally means the English word Name,
the sibilant 's' is the filler sound,
Te' means to you.
Thus anyone who says Nāma-s-te' worships the named outer form !
However, by pronouncing it correctly as
Nama it indicates the inner spirit, not the outer form,
so by uttering Namaste' to someone we are reminding them of their divine inner consciousness, to inspire them on the path of evolution.
When we thus take a spiritualized approach to life, that is, adopting the mindset that we are each possessed by a certain core spirit, and likely some other spirits, then it is easier to :
go beyond the individual form that bothers us,
and look at the spirit within the other,
and how it interacts with ours.
This is essentially why the Yoga Namaste'.
This is like Christian-ity, or any -ism, which are ideologies - it is a fossilized spirit, and not dynamic like spiritualization.
Fossilized spirit is an oxymoron, because spirit can never be dead, as inherently we consider it the source of life itself - a kind of life that has a certain kind of evolutionary purpose.
So in this site we are changing all such nomenclature right now.
Storytelling has the unique power to focus our attention, the most essential commodity of all, especially in the modern world of distractions galore.
But good life stories become obvious only after the fact, such as his-story, as we rationalize & embellish any experience in the rear view mirror, much removed from the strife of life.
That is, we are mere players on the world stage, as quoth Shakespeare, implying we are bereft of all agency.
However, we can also consciously move ourselves through the weave of life by :
coherently narrating tales of a future desired state,
with spiritualized stories that have a personal & collective transformational impact
We accomplish this by employing the Yoga mind, and thus the Universe becomes a studio to enact Yoga Stories, to deliberately evolve the Self.
The studio of our world is formed of :
the microcosm in our own psyche,
any set of collectives of group minds, and
the macrocosm of the universe modeled as a Conscious Being
These Yoga storie are also infused with game mechanics :for life :
Karma gives us points on the leaderboard, and
Punarjanma lets us have rebirths in life
We realize the Universe as a Cosmic Being
At the psychological level we seek to evolve from Homo Sapiens to Rishi Sapiens, becoming super-sentient, or fully conscious.
Over time, with Science, sentience will be blended into the wetware of biology, thence into chemistry, and eventually imbued into Physics itself, thus the psychological cosmos pervading the actual Universe itself.
And thus we, it.
