Multi-perspective Design
crafting Intelligence in Education
Increasing Intelligence
It seems like it is getting increasingly harder to stay relevant in the age of Ai - but that's because of the nature of education model, and in fact, Ai applied correctly helps us get increasingly smart.
Objective First
Any pedagogy that demonstrates increase in wealth would, for the sake of our argument here, ̉be a desirable outcome of a course in the Design of intelligence in Education.
This is enabled by a thought experiment in plausible numbers implicating intelligence, as indicators of the scale of problem to solve.
Measure of Wealth
Considering that material wealth is a very tangible measure, there are very clear examples of developed vs developing country, so let us through increasing intelligene, try to minimize that gap, and even exceed in some other ways (for that is evolution).
As an example,, it is seen that per-capita GDP of USA is approx 25x that of India.
That is, an Indian is 4% of the economic value of an American; we are not making any other social equity statements here.
Let us say that the objective is to make 5 Indians economically equivalent to 1 American, from the current 25 it takes.
IQ
That is, a 5-fold improvement is needed in the Indian's applied intelligence, given our whole thesis, which would surely be helped by an increase in theoretically measured IQ.
Let's say that to enable a 5-fold increase in applied intelligence would probably require 25 theoretical IQ points more, from 75 to 100.
We use 75 as the base number to go from the levels of Developing country natives, such as India, with lower IQ's, compared to Developed countries, such as USA, having higher IQ's say 100+.
Outliers do exist, and at the lower end should not be ignored and at the higher end should be cultivated, even to 150, and levels of unpredictable genius.
Of course, the application of increased IQ would require a whole other effort in actual work to manifest the 5-fold increase in impact - that's a different matter to be dealt with in the practice of education.
Socioeconomic Outcome
In tandem with making 5 Indian economically equivalent to 1 American, the good thing is that likely less waste output will also be proportionally generated by Indians.
Long term, the current currency rates from 1 USD : 85 INR, would also likely shift to 1 USD : 5 INR.
At this point the per-capita purchasing power of India would be as effective as nominal per-capita income, enhanced as it would be by its enduring massive social capital.
Course Design
To increase impact 5-fold, let us apply Design Thinking of multiple perspectives to come up with a Design, then we can drill down in the following fashion for a 360-degree solution
Areas
Every course must have these areas to help structure for clear theoretical model, and practical realization
Design of the problem - characterizing fully 360 degrees
Engineering of the solution - building the solution, and Tech is embraced as a material accelerator.
Marketing of the product - getting it out into society, with their enthusiastic uptake
Economic outcome - earning financial capital is essential to ensure sustainability
Personal Values - fostering social capital is essential too, but socialism with one's own money
Tech
In the age of Ai, all education to be practical has to have some amount of tech enablement too:
to make it all scale, and
teach the Ai about human aspirations too,
thus increasing overall intelligence.
