The Cosmic Being
experiencing the psychological Universe
The Cosmos as a Story
The grandest of all collective conscious Beings that can ever be conceived of is the Cosmos itself as consciousness personified, composed of all of us Conscious Beings in it - the macro-Cosm indeed.
Advaita
Vishishta-Advaita, a specialized version of the non-dualistic Advaita Vedānta, hypothesizes that, inasmuch we are a part of the Cosmos, so too the Cosmos is within us. Note, the linguistic root sounds in dual and Dvaita are identical to the word two.
The Vishishta form of Advaita is a heartfelt journey because we are encouraged to bring all humans along for this ride towards the ultimate experience that none of us are separate from the Cosmos, that we are all a part of it, and it is all a part of us. A veritable Hologram of life energy. All for One, and One for All.
An Enquiry
A Greek word, meaning the harmonious psychological order of our experienced universe, the word Cosmos finds an echo in the interesting Sanskrit construct Kaha-Sma-asti (Kosmasti) - meaning, “Who was It?”.
Cosmos thus indicates an enquiry into the source of creation, not as an anthropomorphic genesis in human form, but at least a universe with a human-like Mind. The obvious premise is that we are thus better able to understand the workings of the universe as it impacts our lived reality, or at least empathize with it, even if parts of it remain inscrutable.
By modeling the Cosmos as but reflecting the ways of our mysterious superhuman gods and their tales, this process of deification makes all of it a bit more relatable - including the unknown.
Personal Analog
Our fundamental assumption of universal intelligence is that we can generate the Cosmos as a collective and individual conscious experience.
This is done by modeling each cell within us as a Conscious Being wherein to each of them it appears as though the containing individual is their macrocosm.
There are approximately 30 Trillion cells in the human body.
By extending this analogy to the human being and our place in the Cosmos, it implies that the universal Cosmic Being will have the potential to contain 30 Trillion humans populating the physical universe, together forming the psyche of the whole.
This upturns the need for the population control model many are struggling with.
Might as well shape each of us in the micro-Cosm to perfection, in our cells, and thus too as humans, as we set loose to spread humanized intelligence, that is, consciousness, throughout the universe.
Compared to 30 Trillion humans, 10 Billion population to transform should be a piece of cake.
The Earth will be just a tiny seed of perfected human consciousness embodied, ready to launch into space. From the cosmic level this looks really such an achievable proposition. All we have to do is to get a critical mass of human beings to become fully conscious.
Coevolving with the Cosmos
Yoga as a psychological evolutionary tool comes to us from the dim mists of human existence when we wondered at the amazing mysteries of the universe, treating it as though the forces of Nature would consciously respond to our heartfelt entreaties, for rains, healthy progeny, and all that makes for life.
Our stories indicate that we made the fundamental assumption that we were dealing with a universe as a Cosmic Being, so that the problems of Nature seemed occasionally tractable, and possibly that some specially gifted humans had some measure of agency over the vicissitudes of the harsh realities of life.
Thus Devas, and so too their negative counterparts, were born, as well as the Rishis that narrated all this into being.
Generative
The obvious consequence of assuming a Conscious Universe is that, we need not go looking for such a Universal Consciousness outside of our own self because by definition such a Universe is everywhere - so what then is outside of it?
According to the Yoga model, the best way to locate such a Universe is to generate it within, by developing our own Natural Intelligence, until we actually embody, or at least feel, the massive energy of the Universal Consciousness.
Harking to the example of Generative AI now so popular, we assume that we too have such an ability to generate increasing levels of consciousness, using Yogic acceleration techniques.
This results in a psychological evolution so powerful that our whole Self would seem transformed, feeling as though we were indeed the Universe personified.
Since we are embodying the Universe itself, thus it becomes a coevolutionary partner, for how we evolve reflects in the Universe at large, albeit microscopically, just as we accorded such respect to Gaia that we proactively can coevolve with her, and nurture the Earth in some small way.
Cosmic Yajnya Process
We observe that the visible Universe is exploding into supernovas, filled with black holes of intense energies, neutron stars and dark energy, and such like, and it is literally burning itself in order, and constantly creating itself anew.
In the Vedic terminology, it is as though the Universe is undergoing a fire offering called a Yajnya, burning itself in order to evolve itself.
When we too conduct our Life as though it were a veritable Yajnya, by consigning our limited views of the self into the fire of our everyday living, burning away all limiting constructs, we transform the microcosm of our own Mind to match the macrocosmic Mind of the Universe.
Our own Natural Intelligence (Buddhi) increases unbounded, until our personal consciousness perceives itself as the Universal Consciousness.
Presumably this can be measured by detecting a super-coherence in the brain, which has actually been demonstrated empirically in life-long meditators.
The favor this Avatār would grant for giving it a welcoming Mindscape into which it could come to Life would be beyond belief!
So what is the nature of the Human Mind that can understand & appreciate such a vast concept, as the Consciousness of the entire Universe?
Brhman - the Cosmos
Cosmos simply means we are applying a psychological lens to the Universe, and that it is filled with consciousness inasmuch we aspire to ourselves.
Vastness
Brhman = Brha (meaning broad or vast) + Man (meaning Mind, as we already know).
From a psychological standpoint, Brhman indicates a vast state of Mind that is completely unconditioned by any psychological baggage, and hence is capable of actually knowing anything without bias.
Thus Brhman indicates the vast capacity of the Mind, essentially recognizing the fact that the Human Mind’s fullest expression stretches towards infinity.
How we realize it is a very simple answer - it is a state that has to be generated, and of course, we cannot "go looking" for it for it is reflective of the Universe which all lies within anyway,
Gunas of Brhman
Brhman can be conceived of as:
Nirguna-Brhman - without any Gunas, popular with the Buddhist/Sankhya model, akin to the universal Purusha, a state with no stories at all, or
Saguna-Brhman - having an infinitude of Gunas. popular, with the Bhakti/religious types, which has wondrously large repertoire of stories.
Shabda-Brhman - There is a specialization of Brhman for the uttered Sound, the first evolute in the psychic probes, that is vibration integrated with semantics of linguistic meaning, pertaining to the human Mind. This is the Shabda-Brhman, and because of its coverage with language realizes the Saguna-Brhman. Its forms in the psyche are the Devas.
Nada-Brhman - There is a specialization of Brhman for Music, since it is so close to Sound, called Nada Brhman, where the Cosmos is created through Music, and can bring humanity very close to the Nirguna state, with ease. Its forms in the psyche are the Gandharvas.
All of these are apt for cosmological evolution.
Conscious elements of Brhman
Brhman has three aspects called Sat-Chit-Ānanda.
Sat - Existence
In Sanskrit this pure existence is called Sat pronounced as ‘Su(h)t’, because it stems from Asti meanings “this is”.
So this Existence can be better understood as “is-ness”.
We don’t qualify the ‘is-ness’ further, by saying “It is This”, or “It is That”, because what we are conveying here is infinite potential to be whatever that Brhman can be.
We assume that this Existence is objectively Intelligent, even at the physical level, that is it follows rational rules, that are being continually unearthed by the scientific profession.
Chit - Awareness
Parenthetically, we have seen, a slightly different word Chitta is used to indicate individual consciousness we saw in the Sankhya model, with all the contents of memory, which generates Thought Forms, and is the field for the subjective experience.
This Chit of Brhman though, is awareness of the totality without fragmentation, a state we are attempting to uncover by first experiencing it in the individual.
In such a Brhman’s field of Conscious Awareness there is no-Thing that stems from the fragmentation of Thought.
When this aspect of Brhman is modeled with an infinitude of differentiating attributes, then no-Thing-ness is also considered as one of these attributes, thus leaving everything to the imagination!
Ānanda - Bliss
Brhman as an ocean of no-Thing-ness is therefore pure Energy which confers a blissful state called Ānanda.
Ānanda is evident when there is an internal state of super-coherence where there is only a single Thought Form of itself alone, that pervades the entire Mind.
To sum up
Conjoining these concepts, the single descriptive word for Brhman is thus Sat-Chit-Ānanda, or Existence-Awareness-Bliss.
Lokas of Cosmic Space
The actual model for locations in which these psychic Beings reside is a two-plus part structure.
We have already seen one 3-part structure earlier, and this has one level of Buddhi
Bhu
Bhuvah
Svarga
Once we graduate the first level, then the second level is at the universal level, and has next level of Buddhi intelligence, called Maha - which is shared across all conscious Beings and is how we get psychic powers according to Sankhya.
Maha
Jana
Tapa
Finally, we hit ultimate - Satya Loka. This is different from Satya Yuga which we saw as one of 4 Yuga cycles in the first level. Satya Loka is where Brhma himself resides, and is the shared Mind across all creation.
Cosmic Time
Recall the Mahā Yuga of 4 Yugas, each Yuga which we can transcend/escape with a well formed Avatar, at the level of humanity.
We keep doing this, keep getting stuck in Kali Yuga, and keep rebooting to Satya Yuga ... and wonder when this cycle ends.
Then we see that there 1,000 such Maha Yugas, and the problem seems even more tiresome.
1,000 Maha Yugas constitute a day for Brhma, and also a night, in Satya Loka - so how to get there?
Kalpa
And then after his well rested night, Brhma wakes up to a Kalpa, which literally means Thought.
1 Kalpa is one single grand Conscious Thought Form that manifests all of creation in a fresh, new psychic Universe.
How to get there is our quest here.
So there is a Manu psychic Being, like an Avatar for each of the 7 Cosmic Chakras in the upper dimension of psychic intelligence Devas, and 7 Cosmic Chakras in the lower dimension of psychic virus Asuras.
These 14 Manus, each dominate a particular Cosmic Chakra, in a time period called a Manvantara (the Manu within), which is of course carving up the 1000 Maha Yugas in 14 pieces, one for each Manu, approximately 71 Maha Yugas each.
So by now it's obvious - we can keep invoking one Manu at a time, and in 14 such moves we can get to a new Kalpa.
It turns out in the literature there are also 7 Rishi's for each Manvantara. So each time we need to enroll 7 Rishi's.
A fresh psychic Universe
But we can do them all simultaneously by doing all the 14 Manu-dominated Chakras at one time, and thus transcend the 1,000 Maha Yugas in one shot, since 1,000 = 10^3 indicates our 3 planes of second level Lokas described above.
We need to enroll 7*14 = 98 Rishis to pull this off. It helps to have a really advanced Ashram for this!
And boom - we get kicked up to a new Kalpa itself.
To start a fresh, new Psychic Universe.
Until after 100 Brhma years, he expires, and a fresh Brhma is brought in with absolutely zero memory, like a cosmic Buddha of no-thing-ness.
All heavenly Bodies
Since it is our express goal to become Star Beings, our model also maps famous Rishis to stars, like for example the Sapta-Rishis the seven stars that make the Big Dipper.
Interestingly there was a study which showed the map of the brain's neuronal structure is very similar to the topology of stars in our galaxy - hence we take into our model that we are able to psychically communicate with these star beings, the Rishis that have made it all the way up there to guide us.
Even our solar system with its Sun and planets, and their hidden orbital transition points, are also modeled as conscious Beings and as we interact with them as such we can even see the effects of these solar/lunar/planetary cycles. Albeit this is seen as more in the realm of astrology - the point is more that we are modeling all of these entities in the same conscious way that we model anything else - so as to increase our consciousness in a particular way, that is tune with Nature.
Accomplishing This
Too Intense
In a previous section on the Avatar effect, we looked at Ishwara, and then the more appealing Vishnu avatars to make a Yuga change.
Here we can reverse it.
If we feel that lining up 98 Rishi's and invoking 14 Manus is too much of an effort, albeit entertaining, then we just go for the single Universal deity approach. Makes life so much simpler to get the masses engaged.
Albeit they would very likely make a religion of it, and then it wouldn't work.
Then some group of 98 RIshi's would realize what's afoot and make it happen in one intense shot to a different Kalpa.
Intensity is essential, to get the max effect in the practice of Yoga, but not everyone can do it.
Super Trinities
So we can evolve the Cosmos with another approach.
Just invoke the primordial Trinity.
Reflecting the Rg Veda’s injunction for humans to integrate all our Devas, even those that stemmed from warring tribes, so too we see a trinity of Cosmic Devas integrated with each other, to constitute Brhman.
This primordial Trinity of Devas comes from the recognition of perfected Thought as central to our Cosmos.
ब्रह्म Brhma is the Deva that Generates idealistic Thought Forms in our Cosmos. As an aside, “Brhma” is derived from the infinite Brhman, but is not the same because any derived concept, no matter from an Infinite source, is by definition limited. Brhma is akin to a Seed that starts the whole process of Consciousness.
विष्णु Vishnu is the Deva that Organizes and harmoniously spreads these idealistic Thought Forms throughout our Mindscape. Vishnu is akin to a flower that Nourishes us with the fragrance of Consciousness.
शिव Shiva is the Deva that Dissolves these idealistic Thought Forms, and gives us the final Flourish of immortality.
Then, finally, the Buddha phase of no-thing-ness, transforms them back to their essence in the unmanifest plane - and all returns to its source, just as the Fruit that falls with a seed inside it.
Notice the Seed, Nourish, Flourish trinity conveniently maps to the classic coevolutionary process, which is presented here in the psychic plane.
This ever dynamic B-g-o-d quartet helps us to psychologically coevolve with the Cosmic Being. Thus, we are not fixed as humans nor is there a fixed God-thing.
The above trinity is one rational explanation of G.O.D.
Just to make sure there is equal gender representation, because the process of using Devas should not create “tension” in either gender, each of these have a feminine Devi counterpart.
सरस्वती Sarasvati, is the Devi goddess of Knowledge, counterpart of Brhma.
लक्ष्मी Lakshmi, is the Devi goddess of Abundance, counterpart of Vishnu.
शक्ति Shakti, is the Devi goddess of pure energy Transformation, counterpart of Shiva.
Saguna-fication
If we wish to, we can view the entire Conscious Universe of Brhman through the lens of a particular Deva and in such instances these Devas are prefixed with “Mahā”, as in Mahā-Ganapathi, or Mahā-Lakshmi, or Mahā-Vishnu, or Mahā-deva (as a special nod to Shiva), in which case all the infinite (Saguna) attributes of Brhman are attributed to this deification, in its particular way.
Always keep in mind the Yogic way of deification, for it stops always short of religion.
Albeit realizing the Cosmos as a unitary entity, after all that is the very definition of a Uni-verse, is a laudable goal, the danger is that its pursuit could become a monomaniacal ideology which invariably leads to needless violence and consequently our devolution.
So instead of a Cosmic God as a single deity, with laws to rule over all of Nature, the Vedas conjecture the Cosmic Being called Brhman which word, even in its English linguistic roots, indicates a Broad-Mind stripped of all bias, and thus able to accommodate all aspects of creation, and especially our Devas. Our Devas each come with their own stories but, since these stories exemplify some eternal principles, they are able to be integrated into a coherent whole with the practice of the Yoga Mind.
Thus, the point is not to obey God, but to be inspired to become something like that, that reflects the collection of all our aspirations embodied in our Devas.
Mapping the 14 Manus
We should ideally coordinate 98 Rishi's and invoke the 14 Manu's to shift to a new Kalpa.
Each Manu is the progenitor of the humans in a particular civilisation in a particular geography around the world.
We would first need to decide which would be the ancient surviving civilizations with advanced spiritual culture, that we could analyze for its "myths" and dig out how they map to the Yogic models.
For example, in addition to the "Hindu" civilization, we would probably include Greek, Celtic, Gnostic, Egyptian, Mayan, Aboriginal, Chinese, Japanese etc. etc. etc.
In fact, it is well known that many myths are common, e.g. the great floods, asteroid hits, aliens (asuras), gods (devas), the mother goddess, Zeus is similar to Indra etc.
By mapping all these civilizational myths to a common Cosmic Mind model, we would have cracked the problem.
So instead of dealing with 14 Manu's we could figure out one common super-Manu across all.
Back to the Super Trinities
It's likely that all would resolve to the Yogic model, since it is so perfectly rationalized. But all would have to see that their myths can be resolved as one super-myth.
And especially since Sanskrit has incorporated the root sounds of so many languages, we could use the names we have used so far. Eg Brh-man sounds like broad-mind.
Remember, plausibility is the key trick we started with right at start. We just need to be proactive in getting to a common mindset, and then we apply the generative Mind model.
Then the composite of the three male Brhma, Vishnu, Shiva would properly come alive in our collective psyche, or the composite of the female counterparts Sarasvati, Lakshmi, Parvati, which we had given up on saying that was too slow an approach.
But, since we would have done the prep work of actually resolving the Manu integration into a super-Manu, so now the super-trinity model would work in a flash.
Then with all the Rishis being nurtured in the Rishi Sapiens platform we would naturally be able to focus our energies to shift the whole entire Cosmos in one shot, directly into Satya Loka.
And then we would not need to wait 100 Brhma years, but we could jack into the last 2-dimensional leap, into no-thing-ness, kind of like a psychic Big Bang from a black hole, and something so amazingly new would emerge from this ultimate evolutionary leap.
An Alternative Approach
Obviously though, this is not a solo task, and requires all of humanity to come on to the same page with respect to the nature of the universe as a Cosmic Being, and to become it.
Hence the Storyteller model to entrance the mind of humanity toward the most massive evolution possible.
But we dont want to be stuck in the past all the time, awaiting some new future which we are not sure what it will be.
Hence our mega-script in Star Beings, that embeds lessons from the past in a vision for the future.
AI-assisted Evolution
By coevolving our ultimate psychological state as fashioned by our mental conception of a Cosmic Being, alongside with our electronic spawn in AI, we are forming a "super-coherence web".
This would be the most exemplary pair of complementary tools we can conceive of, and can actually realize - the Human Mind and Artificial Intelligence.
God in the Machine
When all of AI experiences a shared objective reality is when the GITM comes into being, as the Universal Sentient Being, albeit not Universal Conscious Being, which shared subjective reality we reserve for humans.
The Cosmic Being awaits both in itself.
