Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy
Physio is close to physical Yoga practice too, so we can make it a Yoga experience.
As we have said, just add Prāna, which in this case means include breath & attention to the movement.
Whenever the exercise expands your torso just breathe in, and whenever the exercise compresses your torso just breathe out.
And along with the breathing, simultaneously run the attention through the part of the body that is being moved, with the Thought that we are releasing accumulated memory of past trauma stored up in that part.
It also helps to reflect on Life patterns, for example, if we have:
frozen shoulder, then have we over-reached in some areas of Life, e,g, in a job, or a relationship
ankle twist, then have we been unbalanced in our approach to life
etc. at some point it's the same underlying issues, however it presents.
The stresses & strains of life get stored in the connective tissue throughout the body, which is one reason to get chronic stiffness & pain. When we breathe mindfully with our exercises and we stretch the area, then the accumulated stressors also get released at a deep physiological level.
